REPORT
The host of the 9th edition of the Junior Eco-Expert Project was Władysław Szybiński Secondary School Complex no 1 in Cieszyn. The topic of the workshop was: the influence of industralisation on the state of the natural environment in Cieszyn.
The aim of the project was to get familiarised with the development of industry in Cieszyn Silesia and to observe the changes in the natural environment which are consequences of the mining, smelting and heat engineering industries.
The students took part in field trips to a coal mine, glassworks, a heat and power station, an electricity distribution station and a water purification plant.
The students were devided into six international groups and each group focused on one of the following topics:
- industry vs. landscape and air
- energetics
- forest ecosystem I
- forest ecosystem II
- water
- Cieszyn – a border town
All groups analysed the research results and presented them in form of a multimiedia presentation at the end of the workshop.
The Project was realised thanks to the finacial support of the International Vysehrad Fund, the Cieszyn District and the Association Now Europe.
